Starting tomorrow, October 10, 2013, the first event here will be hosted. This event is a one-shot contest.
What's a one-shot? A one-shot is a simple, one page story. You get the beginning, middle and end all rolled in to one page. The page can be as long or as short as you like, so long as it follows the basic parameters of a story.
The rules and theme are as follows:
Rules
- Your one-shot must follow the theme.
- To have it entered in the contest, it must be posted, with it's title in the subject line, in the Events board by October 17, 2013, 12:00pm.
- The characters, if there are more than one, must have dialogue. There do not have to be more than one character if you don't want there to be.
- No graphic sexual scenes.
- Be conscious of proper grammar and spelling. If you don't know how to spell a word, do what I do: type it in to google. It'll tell you how to spell it.
So, what's the theme?
Twisted Fairy-Tales.
Take your favorite fairy tale and put a spin on it in a way you haven't read before.

I have characters that are fairytales. MerFairy (Part Fairy & Part MerMaid) and PegaCorn (Part Unicorn & Part Pegasus).

Things can be as far as PG-13. If there's a sexual scene or "extreme violence" is has to have some sort of time skip to get past the explicit details. That's all that the TOS requires.

Does the page require certain formatting? Like, is it one page with just normal spacing, or double spacing?

Format the page as you see fit. It's all how you see it.

When you type on the keyboard, there's a list of colors. When I tried to put Pink on, it wouldn't show.

Were you in preview mode, or BBC? There's tabs on the bottom that change from one to the other. If you're in BBC, type between the bracketed words, then switch to preview and it will show up the color you want.

This is how it will show up when you're in preview, and when you post.
